Margaret Namulyanga is originally from Uganda, where she worked as a scriptwriter for a radio serial drama called Rock Point 256. She also worked briefly as a journalist for both state-owned and private radio stations. Her ten-minute play The Goat is Dead was featured in the Half Moon Theatre’s Ten Minute Play Festival, which was held in Poughkeepsie, New York. 

Margaret’s stage work has been presented at Vassar College Power House summer program, Brown University, ART Harvard, as part of the Women’s Day Festival in Amman, Jordan and the Women Playwrights International Conference in Sweden. She is a Sundance Institute East Africa and Royal Court International program fellow. She has contributed to  Afrika Reporter, and has been published in the Daily Monitor. She is currently working on a play titled Dead Good Men.
