Event Details

For the second year in a row, AFI will participate in Forward Union Fair, a coalition-building initiative connecting social justice organizations with artists and creative communities. The goal of the fair is to introduce individuals to causes that need support and help attendees find immediate and impactful ways to engage.

Forward Union was founded by five women art workers in November 2016. These women strongly believe art is a transformative force in the resistance. This free, inclusive fair not only features social justice organizations, but also provides the fresh, evocative context of topical art installations and public programming in the gorgeous multi-purpose space, Red Bull Arts New York. Fairgoers will leave inspired and invigorated by this unique experience and by the new connections they’ve forged with impactful organizations.

With midterm elections swiftly approaching, this year’s Forward Union Fair will focus on getting out the vote, both by building awareness around issues that promise to drive voters to the polls and by providing on-site access to voter registration and information about voter rights.
