Marty Garbarini serves as AFI’s Immigration & Human Rights Paralegal, providing support to the legal team in our pursuit to safeguard the right to artistic freedom for international artists at risk. With a particular interest in LGBTQ+ rights and advocacy as well as a strong belief in accessible legal representation for those who need it, Marty is thrilled to be working with the AFI team.
Marty has previously served as an editorial fellow with Ms. Magazine, a legislative intern with Massachusetts State Representative Lindsay Sabadosa, and has professional experience preparing nonimmigrant, talent-based visas.
Prior to joining AFI, Marty received a Bachelor of Arts in government and the study of women and gender from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.
