Intake Assistant

Paloma Chavez serves as AFI’s Intake Assistant. Paloma’s career journey reflects a commitment to working with resilient communities who face hardship within and outside of borders. She has a wide range of experience, from doing macro-level work in penal code research to micro-level work as a high school academic counselor for migrant students.

Paloma is currently working towards becoming a therapist. She is a second-year MSW student at Smith College and will be graduating in August 2024. She obtained her BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Sonoma State University.
